Gas and smart metering engineers are in-demand, with gas heating installers in particular providing the ideal starting point for other types of heating, including renewable technologies, such as heat pumps. In short, you’re unlikely to be stuck for work if you get into the trades!

Make money from the start!

As an apprentice, you’ll get paid at least minimum wage – employer’s discretion, this could be more the minimum wage, and once you’re qualified, the sky’s the limit. New gas engineers, for example, can expect a starting salary of around £32,500.
